Electrifying Heat & Transport in Ireland

As Ireland aims to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050, it faces transition across many key sectors. Heat and transport together comprised 77.6% of final energy use in 2023, with transport alone accounting for 43.2% and heat 34.4%. With both sectors predominantly supplied by carbon-intensive fuels, concentrated action in these areas could bring substantial progress.

In our latest blog, we explore the scale of the challenge ahead and shine a light on the benefits that the electrification of heat and transport could provide to both the system and end-users. To read the full blog, please click here and fill in this short form*.
