There has been much speculation in the energy industry over what reforms to household energy bills could potentially be introduced, particularly with Ofgem due to announce its Q3 (July – September) 2024 Default Tariff Cap figures on Friday (24th).
With so many areas under review, we’ve put together an overview of some of the options available.
Some, all, or none of the options presented may ultimately be revealed. Furthermore, the list is not exhaustive and does not encompass some of the more radical reform options for energy bills which have been proposed, but which of course remain an option for government and regulator alike. However, if recent rumblings are to be believed, something is on its way from Whitehall that could either cause a major shift or bring minor adjustments to the energy bill landscape.
